Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or simply attention deficit disorder is a developmental disorder caused by neurological and behavioural abnormalities in which the excitation process in the brain dominate over the inhibitory process. • mixed type — combines signs of Attention Deficit Disorder and Hyperactivity Disorder.

The following forms of attention disorder are distinguished:

• Aprosexia.
  This is a complete "shutdown" of attention and concentration, the impossibility of attracting it by any means.
• Hyperprosexia.
  This is pathologically excessive concentration of attention on particular objects, phenomena, thoughts, sensations.
• Hypermetamorphosis.
  Deficiency of attention, up to its almost complete absence, increased distractibility, inconsistency of judgment and thinking, lack of logic, confusion.
• Paraprosexia.
  Attention deficit disorder is characterized by a strenuous search for the desired object of attention.

Attention disorders are present in the clinical picture of infectious diseases, arterial hypertension, endocrine disorders, psychiatric disorders (bipolar afferent disorder, schizophrenia), neuroses (hysteria, neurasthenia, obsessive-compulsive disorder).

Attention Disorder Consequences

Attention deficit disorder leads to problems with reading and writing. The child cannot cope with learning tasks and makes many mistakes. There is social maladaptation, which manifests itself in difficulty in being around people, but they also tend to seek leadership. They tend to clash with peers and elders.

The child interferes with others' communication and actions, behaves unpredictably, takes someone else's things, and reacts inappropriately to external stimuli. Adolescents do not recognize authority figures and are prone to antisocial behaviour, drinking and drug use. Boys and girls do not adapt well to the world around them.

Attention Disorder Diagnostics

In order to prescribe the correct and effective treatment for attention deficit disorder, the doctor must carry out a comprehensive examination. Diagnosis includes taking a medical history, assessing the child's behaviour and conducting a neurological examination. Diagnostic questionnaires designed for different ages of children are used to analyze the psychological state. EEG, ultrasound and MRI examinations are prescribed to examine the brain.
